Striving for perfection
Well, I just came from Stonecreek Dental. They had called me last week to tell me my new bottom refinement trays were in. I had gotten my new ones for my uppers a while back and had been progressing with those while I was waiting on the new lowers.
Good thing too! I only have 9 new lower trays compared to the 19 new trays I had gotten for the uppers earlier. The score now with what I’m wearing today: uppers 13 lowers 9 ….left to go.
So at the end of this stretch if my teeth are “perfect”, it will be time for my retainers. If not, I have two more sets of refinements I can use to get my teeth exactly where they should be!
It really is amazing how these little plastic “braces” can move your teeth so much. But your teeth are like Mother Nature and don’t always move as fast or just exactly where they should be the first time. That is why with Invisalign, you get the “refinements”. After the main go round of trays, the folks at Stonecreek check and recheck your progress and alignment. So with me right now, I’m in the “refinement” stages, getting my teeth “just perfect”.
It will be interesting to see if this set will be enough to finish it all out. I’ll keep you updated! |

Well, today was supposed to be the original last day of trays on my Invisalign adventure, BUT…it’s not. I just had my appointment today and I still need some further adjustment.
This really doesn’t come as a surprise. I had to have an adjustment to my upper trays a few weeks back that already extended the time I will be in my Invisaligns and now am going to need more trays for the bottoms.

Mid-Course Correction
It was time to go in for my next set of trays this week.. I had 3 sets to go through from my last visit, 6 weeks worth.
Up until my last visit, when I put in a new set of trays, they would pop in nice and tight. But then I noticed on my top tray 6 weeks ago that it would pop off in the back when I would bite down and it looked like it wasn’t quite all the way on against one tooth in the front. After wearing it for a day it finally settled into place and seemed to be fine other than the little gap in front.

Do these Invisaligns make my teeth look fat?
So Dr Biehle made the comment that on my next visit I was gonna need some "slenderizing".
I was surprised, I didn’t realize they had a gym at Stonecreek….. They don’t, turns out that she was talking about my teeth.
