Okay…its time to address this…….

I don’t know what the deal is about when I brush my trays. I don’t know if I’m just a klutz and have no coordination or I’m just not an accomplished outside of the mouth brusher….brushing IS after all supposed to take place IN your mouth.

Every time I brush my trays, I hold them in my hand and I end up flipping water and toothpaste drops all over the place. I find those specks all over the sink, the faucet, the mirror……THE WALLS….come on seriously?

You can brush them under the running water and that helps direct the specks down into the sink, right up until your not paying attention and you get outta the faucet stream a little, then you just have an endless supply of water to flip all over the place.

So here is what I did. When I first got my Invisaligns, Stonecreek gave me a “care package”. Included in this package were these tablets. You drop one in a container with warm water and they fizz and clean your trays. Now you still need to brush them afterwards but they clean up MUCH easier and quicker…..I’m not saying my mirrors are speckle free BUT there are a lot less to clean up because you don’t have to scrub as much. These tablets also help keep your trays minty fresh too!

Here is the link to the supplier www.smileshop.com

I bought a years supply of tablets and got a free battery powered sonic cleaner. Fairly inexpensive at around 40 bucks.

Now, me being the guy that I am noticed that the ad said that this is a “sonic” cleaner not “ultra sonic” so since in my mind “ultra sonic” has gotta be “more better” I went on the search for one of those and did end up buying this one.   http://www.amazon.com/Violight-VIO300-Vio300-Dental-Spa/dp/B000Y8BA2K/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1306321664&sr=8-4

Not only is it ultra sonic but it has a UV light to help sterilize. I use the Sonicare FlexCare with sanitizer toothbrush to brush my teeth and to keep my brush heads sterilized. http://www.usa.philips.com/c/electric-toothbrushes/flexcare-2-brush-heads-deluxe-charger-cover-hx6932_10/prd/en/ So I figured this was a good option to have in a unit to keep my trays clean.

I was a little disappointed that the ultra sonic tray cleaner didn’t come with a power cord and you had to buy that separately but it does work well on batteries. Batteries with daily use last for about three weeks….I suggest buying a wall cord. By the way, I use the other sonic cleaner that I got with the tablets as my “travel cleaner”.

Of course, it is very important to not only brush and floss your teeth but you really need to keep your trays clean too. You really have to be diligent with the trays because they can trap food and debris between the tray and your teeth.

I always did do a pretty good job keeping my teeth clean, I always had to work at it because of how crowded my teeth are. I even use a water pick in addition to flossing. By the way this is my favorite floss…..I hate to floss but this really is a better floss and it makes it easier especially on crowded tight teeth, they have several but I really like the Reach Total Care floss, it is the first tab on their web page. http://www.reachbrand.com/our-floss it really is different than the others I have ever used.

Okay, coming up, cleaning and check up and more trays in a couple of weeks…..I’ll let you know how it’s going!
